Music Club Wrap-Up Meeting - Tuesday, May 15(New)

Hello again!  It's time for our annual Music Club Wrap-Up Meeting.  Like last year, we are having a dinner meeting, but we're being hosted at the home of the Bishara family.  It should be a wonderful, relaxed evening with a Tapas Buffet dinner.  Come and enjoy the food and the company while we celebrate the wonderful AHS Music Program, the opportunities it gives to all our kids, and the great fun we all have supporting it!  We will have room for 50 or 60 of us, but please reserve by this Friday so we can order the food.  Thanks!

Click the link below to reserve your seat, or call me at 626-824-2439.

See you there!

Important Announcements

Hi Arcadia Music Club members!

Here are three important announcements:

1. We have a special General Meeting planned for April 17.  We are sending invitations to both the Choral parents and the parents of 8th graders who might be in a music program next year.  We want them to come and see how special we are and learn more about what we do at the high school.
Thanks to the suggestions made at the last general meeting I'm asking for the AMC members to provide the food for the potluck and I'm asking the 8th grade parents to provide drinks.

Maryann Stevens has volunteered to coordinate set up.  We do need volunteers to arrive about 6 p.m. to help set up tables, and welcome guests.  The potluck will start at 6:30 and the meeting will start at 7 p.m.  Please let Maryann know if you can help - contact her via email here.

While I don't want to overwhelm the incoming parents with volunteer opportunities I do think this would be a good time to have a sign up list for Apache Day volunteers and Music Camp recruiting.

Let's have fun (and food) while highlighting the Arcadia Music Programs and the Arcadia Music Club! See you there!

2. We need help with a Drum Major Competition. AHS is hosting one of the World Drum Major Association contests between 8:30 and 3:30 on Saturday, April 14. We will need 1 or 2 adults to help with setup, a few parents to assist the judges, and a few more to work the concession stand or grill hamburgers.  This will not be a difficult day of work but it will be a great experience, especially if you have not attended one of these events.  If you can help for a couple of hours, please sign up HERE.

3.  Announcing the Stussy Outlet Sale - Our annual Stussy Clothing Sale will take place on Saturday, April 14th from 10 am to 2 pm.  It will be located on Duarte Rd. near the Science Bldg.  This is a good fundraiser, so come by and get a head start on your summer wardrobe!  Please see this flyer.

Integration of Choral Groups into Arcadia Music Club

Both the Executive Board and the General Membership of the Arcadia Music Club have formally approved the inclusion of the Choral Groups into the family of programs we support.  This was finalized at our Annual Meeting on March 20.  We will immediately begin the pleasant tasks of warmly welcoming all the parents of Choral students.  We invite all of them to attend our next General Meeting on April 17, and as many as are interested are welcome to our business meeting on April 10.

More details will follow, but we are excited about the opportunity to extend our support to all the programs and students of the Arcadia High School Music Department!
